On the Couch:
This week on the Couch segment I go over all my current wips and languishing projects for the Project Down Along PAL.
This las week I discovered I have
8 pairs of socks
8 shawls
6 sweaters
6 blankets
1 mitten
1 toy
Total = 30 projects on the needles.
Some I will rip out and some I will finish this year.
My goal is to have less than 10 of these current projects on the needles by the end of 2022. I plan on casting off at least one project a month for the duration of the PAL. However, I am also allowing myself the space to cast on anything I want and desire for my little guy that is due in June!
To Frog
3 Socks
1 sweater
1 shawl
2 blanket
total 7 projects frogged

Knitted in Elsbeth Lavold Silky wool in DK weight Pink and purple
I am not sure when I cast this on but I think in the spring of 2020.
I also am not sure where the rest of the yarn for the sweater is so until I find it this sweater remains on hold.
But I sure love it! so I hope I find the yarn or I will have to Frog it. :(
Knit with Cascade Heritage in Plum and Long Dog Yarn in New Growth
Cast on in in February 2021
I think I my plan is to first, reblock the sweater to see if that fixes the fit in the body problem.
If it does then I will continue on to the sleeves. If it doesn't I will rip out to the sleeves and adjust the stitches for a better fit for me.
Knit with Dream in Color Smooshy in the Juliet's Blush Colorway
Cast on in the Spring of 2016 OLDEST SWEATER WIP!
Will try and figure out exactly where I am in the body and continue on with it - I love this sweater so I would love to finish it.

Knit using Swift Yarns in the Folklore colorway, Plucky Knitter in the Move Over Darling Colorway, and a mystery white fingering weight yarn.
This is perhaps my 2nd oldest shawl wip having cast on in 2018.
I think the reason I haven't finished this project is that I really dislike knitting with the plucky knitter yarn. But I do love how it looks and I believe I am 1/2 way done so I want to finish it. Especially since I really love the Swift Yarn and the mystery yarn.
I cast this on in Knit Picks Alpaca Cloud in the colorways Anna (blue) and Matthew (pink)
Cast on in 2021
I didn't even bother creating a project page for this as I didn't get very far and I am ripping it out.

Love this blanket. It is a bit wide so I will probably make that the length and as I crochet up keep in mind that I am know crocheting the width of the blanket.

Personal Skill Set
This episode, personal skill set is pretty simple. I simply want to talk about the very few resolutions I made on new Year’s Eve.
You already know of the knitting resolution I made this year.
To have less than 10 of my current projects on the needles by the end of the year. By my way of calculating that means I need to finish one current project a month for this year. Now I don’t know if that will be possible once the baby comes, but until then I plan on striving to meet that goal.
The other resolution I made was pretty obvious to me: to prioritize myself and my family.
This pregnancy has been pretty hard on my body so far, and what with all the family crisis’ that have happened in the last month, it made me contemplate what I am prioritizing.
I love to work. It gives me a great sense of accomplishment to start and successfully complete projects. I love being there for other people when they need me as well. Sometimes that comes at the expense of my putting energy and devotion into my husband, family, and other loved ones. I want to place them at the top of my list from now on, not my job and other peoples respect and admiration. I want to make plans and projects with my family the priority not the many projects and plans that my job offers me.
So, this year my family is my resolution. To spend quality time with my husband. To fully enjoy every second of this pregnancy and the birth of my son this coming summer. To prioritize my beloved parents and siblings. And if all that means that I have to say no to new opportunities in my community and work life then I am very happy to make that sacrifice.
I often wonder if people I met, or helped ten or twenty years ago, even remember my name, let alone how I touched their lives. My family will always cherish my time and energy that I devote to them, as I do theirs. I don’t have to wonder if my husband thinks of me when we are apart, for I know he does just as I do him. I don’t have to wonder if my family remembers what we did twenty or thirty years ago because we are always reminding each other of little memories from those years. These are the people that will recall my accomplishments and my areas of growth. Not the person I talked to at work for 2 hours the other day. My family and loved ones, are the people whose words of wisdom ring in my ears, whose jokes, and laughter lift me up when I am down. So, these are the people I want to dedicate my time and energy to this year.
I know all this sounds sappy; however, these thoughts have occupied my mind endlessly the past few weeks and I wanted to share them with you all.
I wonder what resolutions you made as we said farewell to 2021 and welcomed in 2022?
